Frequently Asked Questions |  Expand/Collapse

Can I sit the whole day without a back rest?
Yes you can

The swopper is designed in such a way that people, even when sitting down, can do what they are designed for: Moving, bending & stretching.

On the "swopper" your back is always active and always moving. As a result, your whole back remains fit and supple and you feel lively and fresh all day long.

Should you get 'twinges' in your back during the acclimatization phase on the "swopper" that's a good sign. Your muscle groups that have been unutilized to date may be 'waking up'.

What is the correct sitting position?
Correct seating position on the "swopper"

Sit centred on the "swopper" so that the spring strut acts as an extension of your spine. Maintain your balance with your buttocks and both legs resting flat on the ground.

Your pelvis should be positioned slightly higher than the knees, so that your hips and knees form an 'open angle' when you sit down. This promotes circulation.

When you turn to your work with the "swopper", move your pelvis towards the desk. Due to the movement of the seat, your pelvis tilts forward, your spine stands upright on your tilted pelvis and your back remains straight. You automatically assume the correct sitting position.

My back aches after using the swopper for an extended period
Life in motion: Move your body

If you can feel the base of your spine whilst sitting on the swopper, this is a sign that you have been sitting for too long without moving. Stand up briefly or move your pelvis in various directions. Experience indicates that after a certain acclimatization period the base of your spine will no longer cause you discomfort.

What is the warranty period for the "swopper"
Three year limited warranty:
  • Three years on seat structures (spring, seat frame, heigh adjustment seat frame)
  • One year on seat cushion and seat fabric
Is sitting on the swopper like sitting on an exercise ball?
Compared to using an exercise ball, the "swopper" has the following advantages.
  • Safe: It won't roll away or burst
  • The "swopper" can be individually adjusted for height, spring tension & sideways mobility
  • Compact stylish design adaptable to all workplaces
